I hold a Master of Arts in English Literary Studies from Miami University of Ohio (2023) and am experienced in writing and editing effective, compelling prose for professional, creative, and academic audiences. Additionally, twelve years teaching English composition at public colleges has solidified my interest in community-focused writing.

  • Composed front page news reports, utilizing Associated Press Stylebook, about campus events as reporter for Oak Leaves, the Manchester College student newspaper.
  • Taught college students best practices for writing and research, and provided feedback for improvement throughout their academic careers.
  • Completed graduate coursework in rhetoric and composition, creative writing, and environmental communications, plus undergraduate coursework in journalism.
  • Experience with digital photography equipment, software, and presentation.

  • Utilized Canvas, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and other digital tools to create and curate course content, communicate with students, and assess student writing.

  • Designed courses in religious studies around a variety of primary and secondary sources, including sacred texts, documentaries, scholarly writing, student presentations, and short reflection papers.
